Hellos and Goodbyes: Changes for 2011

2010 brought unexpected and very sad changes to the Inspired Family. With the sudden death of Amity's husband, Tim, we saw how important and powerful our community is and were touched and proud by that wonderful community. Amity had no choice but to take time away from us and see to the needs of her family. She is still doing so and forging a new path as they look ahead. She has decided she cannot return to Inspired. While of course we wish her well and all the love and joy she deserves, I have sadness in my heart to lose having my friend be my business partner.
And so now I look ahead, as well. With anticipation, I, too, forge a new path and do so with eagerness. Inspired will continue to offer its unique classes, as well as birth doula support, postpartum and breastfeeding support and more. I feel I've put together an inspiring team of women to support new families from pregnancy to parenthood even more comprehensively and hope you find the same!
Take a look at our new calendar to see what we have in store! Some highlights include:
- Free POP Series (Perspectives on Pregnancy) - monthly classes on various topics. FREE, though registration is required.
- Student Doula Teas will now be monthly on the fourth Wednesday evening of each month.
- Monthly Breastfeeding Troubleshooting session on the third Wednesday of each month.
- We've brought back the Great Expectations Early Pregnancy Class, but in the EVENING to accommodate still-working moms-to-be. The first one is set for February 16.
- We'll also be trying to do a few of our popular classes periodically on weekends or evenings.
- Make Your Own Babyfood is here on February 2nd. Don't miss it, as it is held only about twice a year!
- Birth Professionals Marketing Workshop Series! Get found, get seen, get busy! Feb and March 19.
- New Year's Resolution Day on Jan 22nd. Free and paid classes to make 2011 your best year yet. Get Organized, save money, make it stick!
- We are also developing support services and programs for pregnancy loss. These will be personal, unique programs to provide immediate support during and ongoing support after the loss of a pregnancy or newborn.

Updates, additions, changes and more....
- Our Single Moms Support Group was left off of our paper calendar. It will continue on the first Saturdays (11am-12:30) of the month starting in February.
- WE ARE SEEKING YOUR BIRTH ART AND PHOTOS! Do you have birth art from your birth class? Were we a part of your pregnancy, birth and parenting journey? We would LOVE photos of your birth or your family to decorate our walls. Feel free to drop off or mail anything you'd like to contribute.
- We have office space available for rent at Rio Grande Midwifery. If you are interested, call Barb at 345-2922. Please pass this along to anyone who may be interested.
