This is THE class to get you, your baby and your family off to a great start! Intended for moms less than 24 weeks along, this class will cover Albuquerque Birth Options and resources, common discomforts and comfort measures, upcoming physical and emotional changes, nutrition and exercise, risks and benefits of medical tests offered in pregnancy, different childbirth preparation philosophies and classes, as well as general Dos and Donts and warning signs for potential problems and MORE. RAISING CAIN: THE EMOTIONAL LIFE OF BOYS
Saturday, February 27, 1-4pm
In this two part workshop we will explore the social and emotional challenges that boys encounter in family life and school. And, we ask ourselves, “How can we help boys cultivate emotional awareness and empathy?†- giving them the vital connections and support they need to navigate the social pressures of youth. Using clips of the PBS documentary, authors Dan Kindlon and Michael Thompson, two of the country’s leading psychologists, share what they have learned working with boys and their families.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR TWO TO FIVE YEAR OLD
Saturday, March 27, 6-8pm
This session covers an introduction to child development. Learn about parenting to your child’s temperament, dealing with a range of emotions and strengthening your connection with your child. During this age, parents are challenged to define their authority and discipline style. We will discuss a balanced approach to setting limits with respect and love.
PARENTING FORUM
Ongoing, Second Thursdays, 6:30-8pm
Join other families to discuss parenting’s joys and challenges. Be ready to address your own challenges or help others with theirs. Non-judgmental, welcoming, gentle-parenting centered. $5 each person or FREE for Inspired Parents Members. Tea and snacks served.
