Hi,

I am trying to find the names of a few breastfeeding savvy pediatricians in Albuquerque who can help in making a sound decision on treating breastmilk jaudice in a two and a half week old infant.

 Can anyone offer some names of docs with solid reputations?

Hello Patti!

I’m constantly impressed with the nurse practitioners and docs at After Hours Pediatrics.  My kids have seen Jeff McCollum FNP all their lives and I really appreciate his even, steady approach and willingness to let me make my own informed decisions about their care.  I’m a breastfeeding nut, 100% saavy, and he’s impressed me with his knowledge several times.  There’s a nurse practitioner in their practice there at After Hours who is also an IBCLC (certified lactation consultant) and my kids have seen her once or twice–she’s really great and I totally trust her, I just CAN’T for the life of me remember her name (mama brain strikes again!).  But she’s blonde and she’s an IBCLC.  I know it says that on her business card if you go to the office and just check them out.  Their number is 298-2505 and I’ve never had trouble getting a same-day appointment.  Unfortunately that’s about the only pediatric office I’m really familiar with–mostly that’s because I’d never consider changing!

Good luck with the jaundice–I hope it resolves soon!
